Coram Deo
“Coram Deo” is the Latin phrase meaning to continually live in the presence of God, under the authority of God, and to the glory of God. These two words capture the reverence, lifestyle, and mindset Christ-followers should have in all aspects of their lives (physical, spiritual, emotional, relational, financial, etc.). The beauty of this is that God knew from the start we could never live this life according to his standard without restoring our relationship back to him through Jesus Christ (John 3:16). God is our Sheperd, and he doesn’t leave his sheep to care for themselves. Instead, God walks alongside us in this journey, pointing us in the right path to walk, and protecting us along the way (Psalm 23).
“Coram Deo captures the essence of the Christian life.“

We Are Set Apart to Showcase God’s Glory
The world will always be full of distractions and temptations (James 1:13-18) trying to discourage and even minimize our roles as women and mothers. It wants to fill our minds with false solutions hoping to pull us away from Elohim, our Strong Creator. But that’s just it. He’s much more powerful than any temptation in the world and can redeem every poor thought and decision we’ve ever made. He desires to give us Wisdom, refine and perfect every part of our being, and set us apart from the world (Titus 2:11-14).
Thankfully, through Christ, God fully accepts us as his children and sees us as blameless (John 1:11-13). But since we are still living in a fallen world, our day-to-day challenges reflect our constant need to come to him for guidance and strength to pursue holiness. It is impossible to ever be perfect while on earth, but mediocrity and stagnation in our growth are impossible if we are disciples of Christ. As we spend time in the Word, prayer, and fellowship with other believers, Christ will transform and renew our minds (Romans 12:1-2), change our desires (Matthew 16:24-26), and make our purpose clear (1 Peter 2:9). He is the founder and perfector of our faith (Hebrews 12). But remember, even with the amazing transformation happening in our individual lives, it is all but for the glory of God (Matthew 5:16)!
So dear Sisters, I encourage you to live and learn coram Deo, knowing we are not doing this by our strength or will, but by the power of the One who loved us first – Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior (1 John 4:19, Galatians 2:20).
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
MATTHEW 5:16 (ESV)
